Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Dabrowski Center quarterly update. It’s been quite a start to 2024, and much of my energy has gone to preparing for the 2024 Dabrowski Congress in July.
I’ve missed sharing my thoughts with you and never wrote a post last month following my series on Surviving Disintegration. I’ve found that when I write about my lived experience, it takes a toll and requires processing before I can move on to the next topic.
I never know exactly how people are receiving my posts when I share so much from the past, but the feedback I’ve received tells me to keep going. It has taken years for me to finally find a way to write about the past through the lens of positive disintegration. Please know that it’s a very special experience for me to share my life and words with you. Thank you for being here.
When my words for the public aren’t flowing easily, it’s great to be part of a team. We shared Emma’s new video on Sneaky Stimming and a new podcast episode with Laura Stavinoha on voice and personal growth.
I’m grateful to Debbie Reber for the invitation to join her on Tilt Parenting. We had a great conversation. Despite the many speaking engagements and guest appearances I’ve done in recent years, I’ve never gotten professional headshots until now. It was time to grow up and stop using a selfie photo from 2019.
Getting the Word Out
In February, Emma and I presented together for the first time at Gift-a-Palooza 2024. The audio from our session will be available soon as a podcast episode.
This week, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1 pm MST, I’ll be presenting a session on the theory of positive disintegration for the Mensa Foundation Speaker Series. Click here to purchase tickets.
My session will be an overview of TPD. Later this year, Katy Higgins Lee, MFT, is doing a session on Overexcitabilities and Neurodivergence on July 20, 2024. And Kate Arms will be talking about Autopsychotherapy on November 16, 2024.
You may remember Katy from Episode 30, Celebrating Neurodiversity, Overexcitabilities, and Giftedness, and Kate from Episode 6 (Autopsychotherapy and Self-Leadership) and Episode 28 (Positive Disintegration in Organizations).
2024 Dabrowski Congress Sessions
Aside from sharing about the Mensa Foundation talk this weekend, I’m happy to inform you that much progress was made on the Dabrowski Congress preparations in February. We’re thrilled to share our list of speakers and session titles, along with a tentative schedule.
We’re off to a great start with registration, and it’s fun updating the growing list of people planning to attend virtually and in Denver.
We hope you’ll consider joining us! If you can’t make time to attend, recordings will be available.

Dabrowski Center Discussions on YouTube
Although we’ve had the Dabrowski Center’s YouTube Channel since the 2022 Dabrowski Congress, it’s been mostly dormant since uploading videos that year.
Several people have mentioned wishing I would consider adding video content about the theory on YouTube. This winter, my friend and fellow Dabrowski Center Director Tina Harlow started working with me to create new programs and content about the theory of positive disintegration. We've been recording conversations about our work together as it unfolds.
Please join us for the first discussion about the 2024 Dabrowski Congress, including our reflections on past Congresses.
Don’t forget to hit the Subscribe button and stay tuned. We’ll also be sharing videos from presenters previewing their DC2024 sessions on YouTube and elsewhere this spring.
Autoethnography Anniversary
February 28, 2024, marked ten years since I started my first work using the research method of autoethnography. I’ve mentioned it in posts before:
Interesting Quotes, Vol. 10 (paid)
This spring, I plan to start writing about autoethnography and sharing more about this useful framework and way of life I discovered as a doctoral student.
It’s no exaggeration to say that autoethnography changed my life. I’ve continued using it as a method of self-education and autopsychotherapy.
For Founding Members
In February, I added a new offering for Founding Members—quarterly Q&As on Zoom, where I will answer your questions about the theory of positive disintegration. These sessions will last for 60 minutes, and the first one will happen in April 2024. Bring your questions and comments for an informal gathering with others who deeply care about this work.
I’ll be sending a message to our Founding Members list soon with more details. If you want to participate in these meetings, please click the button below to upgrade your account.
Thank you to everyone supporting our work at the Founding Member subscription level. We are deeply grateful!
Our fundraising campaign is still underway to support the Dabrowski Center’s programs and hire grant-writing help. Click here to donate to the Dabrowski Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
We’re pleased to share the Dabrowski Center’s 2023 Annual Report, which lists our activities from last year and outlines the growth of the podcast and our other work.
I want to thank the other members of our Board of Directors: Emma Nicolson, Tina Harlow, and Jason Wells. What a blessing it is to have such a great team supporting this organization.
We’re grateful to our donors and everyone who helps us fulfill our mission of bringing Dabrowski’s theory to the world. Thank you for being part of this community!
Warm regards,
Chris
