Listen now (66 min) | In episode 67, Chris and Emma were joined by Caitlin Hughes from the Divergent Dialogues podcast. Caitlin is an accredited mental health social worker and founder of Cathartic Collaborations, a neurodivergent-affirming private practice based in Brisbane, Australia. We dive deep into the complexities of multi-exceptional neurodivergent identities, the journey of self-discovery, and the importance of embracing our differences. We discussed the theory of positive disintegration as a liberating framework that offers an alternative to the pathology paradigm.
Thank you, Chris and Emma, for having me on the Positive Disintegration podcast! It was truly a dream come true to share space with you both. The podcast has been a steady guide and comfort, providing insights that resonate with my experiences of unmasking and growth. This journey of Positive Disintegration, as challenging as it is, has been made easier and more meaningful thanks to the impact of your work. It was a privilege to be part of it, and I can’t thank you both enough!
Thank you for joining us, Caitlin! This was a great conversation, and my mind is still blown that we were your introduction to positive disintegration. I love hearing about other people's journeys of finding themselves in these ideas, and that it helps the way it does. I'm so happy we've become friends, too, and I look forward to many years of collaboration ahead. As well as more conversations about neurodivergence and positive disintegration!
Thank you so much! Honestly, from the first time I started listening to your podcast, I just had this feeling we’d end up as friends someday. And I have to say, I’m already plotting my return for another episode down the track… hope you’re ready to have me back on! 😊 Here’s to more inspiring conversations, shared insights, and plenty of laughs along the way.
Wow... a fantastic episode! There are so many powerful insights and connections I took away from this episode. It seems like this is a theme of most of them. I think, in part, hearing about the theory and related realms repeatedly, with variations in presentation and emphasis along with genuine perspectives from folks with respect to how they've lived aspects of the theory is (at least for me) a powerful way to digest and reflect upon it as I expand my learning.
Thank you so much for all the effort and love that goes into creating all that you do. It has often been a lifeline in profoundly troubling times... and I am sure I speak for many others.
